Well dang it. I was going to bring you 4 chicks then. I have 2 female and 4 male Cuckoo Marans available right now. They will be 4 weeks old the day of CS. And if you are wanting Barnvelders, I have 2 Barnvelder hens and will be picking up a young roo from a friend of mine in August. So next year, providing everything goes well, I should have Barnvelders available also.

Dang it! And YES to the Barnies! Oh, I'm so excited.

Actually, if you'll have Barnies next year I think I'll just hold off on the Marans altogether. I'm going to the swap this weekend to pick up some hens and pullets so those should get me through until next year and then I can just go with what I've been wanting to begin with. Put me down for as many chicks and/or hatching eggs as you can spare from them.

And while we're at it, hatch me a coal black lamb next year, too, would ya?

Cool. Will do that with the Barnies. I am going to get 2 roos from him so I will have a back up roo.
And ummm, I TRIED to get you to take a lamb this year and yes I did have some solid black ones.

BYFM-

How did you get such closeup shots of them?

I didnt even know they had faces- I couldnt get close enough.

ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

just why cant you call them Uggos any longer???
They were trapped in the coop... Well, that is not true... they could have gone out the pop door but that would just be too much to ask
lol.png
So instead the huddled in the corner until they realized I was not going to catch them...Yet.
They are no longer uggos... they are Sweeties!!!! Hunan is my favorite!!!
BF likes that they follow him around!!!
Turtles are pretty amazing creatures. Years ago I was out pheasant hunting when I came upon some baby snapping turtles emerging from their nest. I picked up one and placed it in my hunting jacket with the intent to let my youngest son take it to school for show and tell. When I got home I forgot completely about it. It was the following spring when I discovered it again. Where I store my hunting equipment is very cool and it seems that little turtle hibernated the winter in my coat. We placed it in a terrarium, fed it for a couple of months and then released it to the wild.
That is amazing! I can't believe it lived!
I have a friend that would collect toads and put them in her pockets (She was very young at the time) And her mom found them in the wash. Poor toadies...
I'm just going to kvech for a moment...
I'd like to simultaneously scream, vomit, drink heavily, and shoot things. And to think it's all over one fat little mole that the collie puppy happily brought me the other day. Tail wagging and eyes smiling, he earned his first, "That'll do."
I can't even imagine! Good dog!
It wasn't till fall that I found out that the straw had created ideal living conditions for a vole population explosion. When I finally decided that our harvest was over you have no idea of the pleasure I took from putting a match to the straw.
Oooooo!!!! I would too!

While I was down that way for the ducklings, I swung by Caulder's Dairy and picked up some fresh milk. They have the best milk around. I didn't buy any butter, I'll wait and get that from Daron at CS.
MMMmmmmm... did you get some black cherry icecream too? Theirs is the best!!!!
It's getting there! Next course is some colored glass tile... Hope to get it finished by Saturday.
This is the first time I've done a shower and it's going pretty good I think.

Looks GREAT!!! This is what we did last fall... so I totally simpathize with you.

The tile in the shower only went to my shoulder and water was leaking behind the tile into the wall and into the floor. I was cleaning my sons closet out and found mold and that the wall was wet and soft... It was a terrible process! We gutted the whole bathroom including the floor and my sons closet. But it is georgeous now!!
She called after supper last night and after the call Granny, Hope, and I were outside checking out the garden, gathering eggs, watering birds, and harvesting radishes when 3 hot air balloons flew directly overhead. After they had flown out of sight Granny remarked upon how happy she is and how fortunate she is to live here.
Granny sounds like a wonderful woman, Opa. I can see where you get your wonderful outlook on life.
Ditto!

WHAT!? You didn't tell me you had solid black ones. *pout*

At the time I didn't know I wanted a lamb of every color, remember?! But I'm thinking the little grey one is going to need some friends and black is the next color on my list so... next year. Plus, now I have the dog for an excuse. "Honey, they're not for ME. They're for Tripp, he needed a new toy."

LOL Ok. Buck or ewe ?? AND... you NEVER asked me if I had black ones. haha Actually I had more black ones this year than I ever have had. I was getting tired of seeing black ones. Bottle lamb ?? I will put your name on a good one out of my better ewes.

LOL! I know, I was just teasing. It really never even became a thought to me until later this year when I saw the picture of that gray ewe... and then found that gray lamb. It was like the stars aligned.

Probably ewe. I'm still holding out hope that the grey one is a ewe... could I get so lucky? Figure I probably won't keep the same ram around for long -- we've got several sheep farms in the area so I'm thinking I might just get with them for a ram lamb each spring, let him breed my ewes in the fall and then put him in the freezer -- so would rather my color of choice sheep be ewes, I guess.
