LOL! I know, I was just teasing. It really never even became a thought to me until later this year when I saw the picture of that gray ewe... and then found that gray lamb. It was like the stars aligned.

Probably ewe. I'm still holding out hope that the grey one is a ewe... could I get so lucky? Figure I probably won't keep the same ram around for long -- we've got several sheep farms in the area so I'm thinking I might just get with them for a ram lamb each spring, let him breed my ewes in the fall and then put him in the freezer -- so would rather my color of choice sheep be ewes, I guess.
No problem. That is doable.

Oh, and yes, bottle is fine. The kids think feeding the little stinkers is fun so it's no big deal for us. (I say that now, when I don't have twelve of them bleating for milk. LOL! )

It's getting there!  Next course is some colored glass tile... Hope to get it finished by Saturday.
This is the first time I've done a shower and it's going pretty good I think.

Looks great! I've done several tile floor projects. A year or so ago we tiled the kids' shower surround. I decided I would rather tiles floors any day. Grouting a vertical surface stunk! Of course I am a do-it- yourselfer...and not a professional. We did our kitchen backsplash this winter...but still haven't grouted. Still looks better than the drywall that had been there for two years. Now that I want to start building coops...dh knows it may be a while before I go back to finishing the kitchen grout!

Make sure to post pictures of the finished project!

Mom- glad they are getting the debris out of there. Hopefully that will help clear up the infection. Such an ordeal, but praying all gos well.... Sounds like you need a day off with a whirlpool tub and some ice cream..... Or whatever special treats help you distress!

I am still trying to figure out the Uggo craze. I know, slap me if need be.... But they are just so...uncomfortable to look at....is it perhaps a love of their...personality?

Sandhill is a smaller farm, unlike the mega hatcheries. They maintain a breeding flock that is selected more for production than for APA standards. Because they have limited numbers of breeders, they can at times be short on one breed. They have often provided extra chicks to me, and given me a refund on the ones they were unable to provide according to the order. This spring I ordered 25 chicks, and they sent 47(!!) and then later sent the Dorkings they did not have available the first time along with another dozen chicks - all at no additional charge.

Greetings, I've been lurking a long time but nearly never post, until now. We live on a small farm near Perry, with cats, dogs, horses, oxen and CHICKENS! I'll be out of town the 23d, can't come to the swap meet. DARN!! I've got Belgian d"uccles, Delawares, and Sussex mostly, all hatchery quality. I'm learning! The bantam flock started 20 years ago from a neighbor, with a few outcross pullets. This year I'm adding more, hopefully better quality chicks. Too early to be sure, though. Mary

Hmm. On a positive note today, looks like saturday works better for my sister's grad party, so i guess the well expense and whatnot was a blessing in disguise. Moving it to sat. will insure that more people are able to come. (see, staying positive!)

I opted to make the cake, i couldn't see her spending so much on one of those wimpy bakery cakes. The only hangup i have is the frosting...... she's not a frosting girl, but likes the canned better than the homemade buttercream or the stuff on the bakery cakes..................Has anyone tried the choc version of the cook's country cream cheese frosting? Would it hold up OK in the heat? I also thought about a stabilized whipped cream, she adores whip cream, but the cake is going to be the super chocolat-y recipe that i posted a while back, with butterscotch filling. I have also seen a pour-on butterscotch frosting recipe from taste of the south, but that one required two pans of stuff cooking at once, and i know i would muck it up when under stress, so if anyone has a *simple* version.............?

I am going to try to make this something that will be talked about, she is making this with me so it will not only be bonding time for us, but a way to showcase her skills, too. She has a potential mother-in-law attending, so if done well this will be a nudge in the right direction!

(Yes, i believe the old adage that the way to a man's heart is through his belly) lol.

We turned one bedroom into a sewing room for her that has everything she could possibly want for sewing. Two sewing machines dedicated to specific tasks, two sergers, a large cutting table, lots of cabinets and counterspace. If she is working on a project and hasn't finished it she simply leaves it where it's at, walks out and closes the door. Not having to put everything away until finished is a god send.

While missing my father is something that will never end for her, and she occasionally has a sad moment when she thinks about her loss of independence, no longer having her own home or many of the things she had once had, she has made a concerted effort to stay positive and thankful for what she does have.

I look forward to meeting her next week.

I didn't know what their personalities would like, but I love my possible roo Hunan. I didn't want to keep any roos but he is just so darn sweet. He likes his comb to be pet and puts up with people holding him really well. I am working on his white counterpart Marsala. She is not as calm as he is yet. The black 2 I have are skittish still. Working on it. I WILL HAVE LAP CHICKENS YET!!!

If you are going for chocolate frosting... I would make cool whip and oreo frosting. I mash up the oreos or put them in my processor and mix coolwhip til it is "fluffy" and spreadable. MMmmmmm!!!
edit:
It might be a little too rich with the butterscotch though...

If you can adjust the butterscotch and can make it a bit saltier (more like salted caramel) then that might balance out both the sweetness and the richness.
