Oh my, this is just too funny.

The local PD is at Crabby's house investigating the daughter's car which has been sitting in the street since February.
Now they are trying to move the car off the street.

I'm sure I'll get the blame for calling on them, but it wasn't me. I'm guessing that it is the new people across the street since Crabby complained about them.

Daytime TV here in the burbs.

Raz........ I know you're a sharp guy, but I think it's come down to dirty, and you need a lawyer! They're up to something (your neighbors) and I don't think the outcome for you is going to be good going it alone. For some strange reason, crazy people in all their twisting and conniving... make themselves some how credible in the eye of the court cause the court loves tattle tales. I can't believe the courts would take owning chickens a trial worthy offense....I know it's expensive... but .. it could end up costing you more without one.

How come that crazy f that poisoned your yard/food isn't in jail?

One of these days, they'll mess with the wrong person.... then they'll get their comeuppins.. and I'm hopeing you're there to see it!

ohh just read your post above mine.... LOL, wonder how they like it! The cops have got to be tired of the BS from those folks, and probably enjoyed it! I hope they don't retaliate against you for it though.

Welcome to the new peeps!

On Sunday, I sold over 30 birds as meat birds to a Asian lady. She did not want my buff orpingtons, for she did not like the taste of them. :barnie Now I have 6 chickens left, and after she left with the birds, I looked in my almost empty coop, I felt sad, about to cry. But I turned away and went to process my remaining 7 meaties.

My first time to process a chicken was a few weeks ago, when my 2 CX roosters had died of heart attack, they both weighed 7 or 8 pounds. Then the following week I did 4 in one day. 6 in the next week, 7 last Sunday. I did each bird in about 10 minutes each! :th I just skinned them, and gave the skins, guts, heads and feet to the pigs. The hogs ate everything except the feathers!! I had total of 5 cockerals and 15 pullets, but I lost 3 of the pullets two weeks ago. Found them under the evergreen tree, all maggoty. :sick The meaties were free raging 24-7 with a coop, but refused to go in it. They slept under the stars. I did not lose any of them to preds, for they were sleeping under the cow fence which is hot.

I dipped my eggs that I have been saving for the past 3 weeks today. Over 300 eggs!! Plus some that I got from CS. My sportsman is too full!! I will have to use my Little giant and the Hova. :th

Got to go to work, read you guys later!

I was chatting it up with my new rooster loving neighbor and he was asking about meat birds. If I did anymore he wanted me to raise some for him. He even asked if I would do turkeys but I told him that I am not sure the other neighbors would deal too well with gobbling turkeys. LOL

Actually, they probably would do ok with them if they knew they were getting one of those gobblers.

I'll stick with the meaties for now. So maybe I will do some more in the fall for me and my corner of neighbors.

So my sweet little muskovey that i got from theron Saturday was looking a little bored in the breeding pen with all the other new birds so I figured since I was out there I would let her outside. She ran around the chicken run trying to figure out how to get in. Then she found the call duck run and really got excited when she saw the pool! So I put her in there and it didn't take 30 seconds and she was in it! The calls were a bit miffed and jumped out. But a little bit later they went back in but kept their distance...

My baby on the far side next to Sammy who is looking at her like "Who are you?"

Seconds later she was in with Louie and Oliver!

Sammy won't go back in. He's happier just standing here and watching!

She posed just for me!!

Speaking of muskovies I had to post this one too! Lately my muskie hen has taken to living with the pigs. It began when her mate wouldn't leave her alone. She would fly in there for a few minutes then fly back in with the rest (to the right). But for the last week she has refused to stay with the ducks. As soon as the doors are opened in the morning she flies over there and stays there all day. The pigs won't let each other eat out of the bowls they are eating out of but they will let Penny. When they nap, Penny naps like in this photo. In the afternoon when they're basking in the sun, she's laying on top of their coop as if she's watching over them! When it's time to be locked up she'll be laying on this coop and I reach over and grab her and put her in with the ducks to lock them up! lol

Ok, I just got home from work. Vanna, my dark GLW is starting to show the same symptoms as the hen I culled this morning. Dark green poo and all. Her but is not pasty like that yet. I did find some shed on the coop floor this morning. I looked over the poop on the poop/roosts in the summer area, and I do not see anything with it that seems out of the ordinary. The only birds that have yucky poop is the meaties, and from what I have read, theirs is even normal. So, totally stumped as its not hot as heck like it was when the other hen started up sick. She is has not dropped weight yet either, was able to check that by picking her up. The meat on her breast is still there. Now, I am wondering is if maybe it has something to do with the ACV I started to put in there water, what, 2 weeks ago there abouts I started with that... I have never used it before, and I only started using it to keep the water-ers from getting that slime. The yard is clean, they are never in a run all day, they have total go where ever the hell they want to go, again, I have wonderful neighbors on both sides, SO, what could it be? ALSO, the two birds were not sleeping in the same coop... The one I just culled had been in the summer coop, and Vanna is always in the original coop I built... I know antibiotics are not/should not be used as a broad spectrum treatment, but if this is going to pass from bird to bird, should I give something in the water? UGH! I even looked the hen I culled over for mites... Nothing! No mites, no lice...

I only treated her the once for the worms Fuzzy. The VT that did the worms check did not tell me exactly what type she had, because she is not the bird doctors, but she said there was a high load in the sample I brought, so I went with the one for both types, the tape and the round. I never saw any dead worms in any of the poo, either smeared on her feathers, or where she let loose. There were none in the poo in her confinement box this morning either.

SO, broad spec antibiotics for them all or no? Vanna is going to be going into the hospital box tonight... Just in case it is something that is spreading.

All righty then... I just went out and checked over every one I could catch. I tell you, it is a lot harder to try and catch individual birds to look at rear ends for poop smears than it is to bath my not wanting to shower unless its in a mud puddle or pool kid!

Vanna is the only one with a poo smear on her butt fuzz. I called the vet, he is not in today, but will be in tomorrow, So, I will run it by him, and see what he says. I hope I do not need to bring her in... I do not have the moolah this week. Its a single pay check week and it looks like I may end up with the neice and nephew for a few days... SO, teenagers can eat a lot!

Sister has her surgery at 3 tomorrow. They were trying to decide if they were just going to transport to Ann Arbor for it, or Chicago. They decided that the dr. would just come to holland to preform the surgery... a round y proceedure... Here is the dumb man jist of it. Normal people have 1 bile duct coming off the liver into to gall bladder to the stomach... Well, sis had 2. They are on the left side... So, after discovering that she had a secondary bile duct, and she 1:4,000,000, they did a sphincterotomy and combined those 2 ducts. Now, after a week, any remaining bile should have been drained out, and bile bag removed. Nope... Still dumping 30 some odd something in bile a day. So, do a radiation dye, find out that HEY! My sis is even odder than that 1 in 4 million. She has bile ducts coming off of the right side of her liver also that were never noticed. AND those bile ducts are continuing to dump the bile into her cavity. There have been 3 other cases in the U.S. of this happening that Dr. VanWylen could find. Well, hells bells... Its also genetic... And with the internal abnormalities that seem to pop up in my one side of the family... Like the heart being on the wrong side, as well as appendix and gall bladder being in reverse on my dad, I guess I should not find it surprising that my sister has 3 extra bile ducts. Well anyway, the fact of the whole matter is that her original Dr did not feel it necessary to investigate farther and left it at, "you are just a slow healer" all the while the bile is eating away at my sisters insides. Van Wylen does feel that the heart problem my sister has developed should resolve itself as soon as the specialists fix her up. Good senario, is that they will be able to get in and fix the problem, and she stays a week in the hospital. Worse case, is they get in there and find that they need to medivac her to Ann Arbor after all.

It's very lucky you knew about the genetics, and that they can fix her. Better than finding all this out during an autopsy.

I hope all goes well for her.
And for you, feeding teenagers, I know it well

I hope the good scenario works out.
In case of the worse case and she goes to Ann Arbor, there are some of us close enough to go visit and cheer her spirits with chicken stories.
