Oh boy...behind 135 posts...hmmmm....I'll just post pictures lol Nova! I need a summary!! lol
Here's my broody blue silkie hen who is soooo happy that I finally let her sit on eggs

and here's a color question for you all...the one on the left is white....what color is the one on the right?!?! I have an idea...but I'll wait to see if anyone else says it :)

Nova-

thats good news for your sister! Hope she heals up good now.

HEAT-

I just bought four bags of ice. The rabbits have found the crawlspace- where I cannot reach em, it feels like air conditioning under there, though, so I am jealous.

I DO worry about my NotMeatie girl though, so I turn the sprinkler on mist and I will let it run over part of their yard all day long. I am going to put the ice in the shade- probably set it on top of the rabbit hutches..in them? Not sure yet- not sure the bunnies will utilize them, but they are there if they want them. Notmeatie can sit under a hutch and let the cooler air/water come down to her.
My parrot and tortoise are both African species, and think we worry too much. They love this weather. The winter- not so much.
Huey is going to be in air condition tomorrow.

new chicken stock threads have been started, both for up north this year and 2013s. RaZ is going for jury trial. His neighbors daughter came online today to convince us that he is a big jerk with stinky yard and animals and he started it all. It was great. Well... You missed it, I nearly peed myself. Jaime flagged her stalking butt, and now she knows whose side we are on. I got coons buried in back. Daron has way to many eggs in the bator, wynette contributed to his... Addiction. He's also processed a bunch of birds. Um, I think it was Fuzzy who had to put her bunny that was owl attacked down... Hmmm... There's more I am sure, but that's the just of the last few days. Oh, and my sisters surgery went well. CG sent pics of her family in Austria...

Wow. Looks like everyone's had a lot going on lately. I'm glad some of them were worked out and hope that those that weren't will be eventually.

There's been a lot on our end here so I've been pretty quiet while we try to sort it all, but I just wanted to say hey. Of course, I'll follow this with a question on the duke trap for the coons. I clicked the link and briefly looked at the trap, but is it safe to use if there are other small animals around? I need a trap that is sturdy and that I can easily dispose of what is caught. The last trap was ruined by an aggressive coon. We've had a couple that have shown up rather aggressively this week. We've managed to keep from having any losses until tonight. I'm down one of my BSL hens and am not very happy about it.

awwww, Im so glad! I love you Robin, you are the best!!

Well I hope the bunnies like the crawlspace more than I do - I was in one today running new plumbing and although it's cooler than outside the dust and dirt made got in my ears and eyes. The dust mask saved me!
They do! In fact, its a little game of tag going on...I stare into the crawlspace, they peer out...I start to walk away, and Clover hops out...I pet her head, she bounces away....over and over again..
I dont think anyone could fit under my crawlspace without getting stuck.

Spiders under there, too, Im sure.

Anybody out there need any little bity bantams ??? I have probably at least 6 that are looking for a home. There are girls and boys. They are around 2 months old and I mean tiny little things. Very pretty. Some are mottled and the others are like speckled. I have no clue what they are. When I bought them as day olds they were suppose to be d'Anvers but they are not. Much smaller than a d'Anver for one thing and single comb instead of a rose comb and wrong leg color. So I am offering them to whoever wants them for free on here before I do anything else with them. I would like to see them get a good home. I can drive some distance to meet with someone if they want them.
I will try to get some pictures if I find the time today.
Pictures! Are they serama? Not too much is small than d'Anvers.....button quail?

AND SAM DIDNT POST YESTERDAY! Does that mean that yesterday hasnt really happened yet? hmmm.

Nova, it is nice to able to have a large garden & I'm fortunate & grateful to have to one but the dang thing is WORK.....Work when we get home from work!! DH does the majority of the planting so he gets the credit....I do the picking, freezing & we both do the canning.
Very nice garden, M.Sue!
I didnt plant one this year- the actual yard has been hard enough to get ready. I didnt even put in ONE single tomato plant. My Tiffany now thinks I have deprived her. However, she hasnt complained again since I told her that she was perfectly old enough and capable to put in her own tomato plants and care for them if she wanted them.

My mom has a garden, its not as big as yours, but you sure are correct on how much WORK it is. She has my girls all week in Milford, camping, so I have been caring for her critters and garden. ROYAL PAIN- making sure it is watered good enough. Sure wouldnt want her plants to be wilted and dead when she gets home.
Yesterday her neighbor was outside grilling at the fence line- filling the backyard with smoke (it triggers my moms asthma- I think they do it on purpose) and I was so tempted to turn the sprinkler so as to water them .....I didnt though. I DID however, accidentally drop and spill the sunflower seeds and peanuts that i was um...that I was eating...yeah, thats it. I was EATING sunflower seeds and peanuts and I accidentally spilled the bags on the ground. Feeding birds? Oh dont be silly, Im much too greedy with my peanuts and sunflower seeds to share them with wildlife on purpose.

M.Sue...AWESOME Garden! I am so jealous. We got a late start on our garden this year because I spent all of my time at home working on the coop/run. We have a few peppers and a few tomatoes, a pumpkin, and have some watermelons started. But I am sure that garden is lots of work.

Nova...after just spending the last two hours trying to catch up on the posts since CS, I could have just read your synopsis and got the update on everything. Good job...next time I will check the last page first!
