Farmerboy, I haven't been on for a few days, so I don't know exactly what happened to your nephew, but I'll keep him in my prayers.

Happy Friday, Everyone have a great day.

Here is a recipe I thought I'd share....The prefect summer drink. I haven't made it yet but sure am going to tonight!

Burnett's Orange Cream Vodka
Orange Juice and 7/UP

Suppose to taste just like a orange cream-cycle....you know, like the kind from the Good Humor Ice cream truck!
With a kick? I'd keep the kids away from that Ice Cream Truck, lol!!!!

Good morning!

I am ready for naptime...

Thankfully all my birds survived the humidity through the night. Today it's supposed to be 3 or 4 degrees cooler, but I'm still keeping my butt on the house!

I want to say I wish the best to those going through family hardships!!

I need some advice.

My muskovey hen has taken to living with the pigs. The first few nights we'd chase her out or take her out with the net, but for 2 nights now we've just let her stay in there. The pigs aren't bothered by her being in there and she seems to have no interest in being with the ducks. Do you think it's ok to just leave her there or should we clip her wings extra short and put up more wire to keep her out?

Hmmm, I'll have to see what I can do about that, but for now your stuck with my baseball hat.

Swampducks, I think I prefer your straw hat
Am I wrong in thinking my mom has dementia? I am in the boys room cleaning, and i kept throwing the dirty clothes I am unearthing into the hall by the bathroom so they can go down the laundry shoot. What does she do? She picks up the pile I am amassing and brings them back into the boys room and dumps them cuz she didn't know why they were in the hall way but they were in the way.... WTH? The other day she asked me how long to boil eggs. Today she's cooking hamburger, and she just kept cooking it and cooking to the point where there was no more grease and the meat was drying out. I asked her to keep an eye on it a second cuz the birds were having a royal fit outside over something. Stray cat was back... didn't get it, but scared it off... well anyway, I came back in and she's still cooking the meat, and now its ruined, but she didn't know... There are other wacky things like that, and its getting worse, and her doc thinks I am exaggerating... Now I just yelled at her for being an idiot cuz I swear to God she's driving me nuts with this stupid idiot stuff!
I want one!

Almost 80 degrees here, seems a little less humid though, stil have the windows open and the inside humidity is still only 55%, yesterday it was over 62% so it's an improvement. Would be nice to be able to leave the window a/c off, it doesn't work too well anymore anyway, it really just takes the moisture out of the air now, better than nothing I suppose. MY poor DH has gotten a head cold, he is not happy, he is almost never sick. I apparently had a mild one last week, just a sore through for 2.5 days, but I get sick more often (probably get another lousy sinus infection from it, too

) but maybe I'll get lucky this time. But as I probably gave him this cold I suppose I must take care of him. what can one do when it's too hot for chicken soup?

:) It's kind of cool too see behind everyone's avatar.

My girls did pretty good yesterday. My silkies were pink when I got home from devouring their watermelon

. I sprayed down the run with cold water when I got home. Their egg output was pretty good for it being so hot. I think the screen door my DH put on the coop so that we can keep the door open all day was the best idea we had. That, and covering the run during the day so the girls can be shaded.

Wednesday night I noticed one of my turkey hens bleeding on her back. Guess the boss was being a bit rough and cut a 2 inch gash in her back. I brought her inside, cut off all the deadish skin and stuff, cleaned her up as much as I could. Tape does not stick to their skin for some reason, so I ended up stitching her up myself. She looked pretty good this morning so I hope she'll be ok.

Works gotten really busy for me (which is good) but it means I can't be on here much!

Hope you guys all have a great weekend!
