Good Morning Michigan!
I see tempetures are on the rise again, YUK! During that last heat spell, I took some of that bubble wrap insulation (you can get at Lowes) and duct tape and made jackets for my waterers. I cut just above the water line and left the handle exposed, for the 5 gallon one. For the one gallon I covered the whole jug. Seemed to help keep the water cooler longer. Half gallon froze water jug would last with ice stiil in it about six hours.
Everyone have a good day!

Great idea Gail!

We're off to take down that barn. I'll call you sometime tonight =)

You know what that is for . LOL

Well we're off to tear down a barn. This should be in interesting since I tore ligaments in two fingers in my right hand. The good thing is the lady that owns the property said to take what we want and leave the rest there. It's a gorgeous property but it's hidden WAY far back off the road. It isn't easy to find though so that should be fun!

So I have 3 gorgeous rabbits. 1 fawn buck - approximately 3 years old, 1 chinchilla buck - approximately 3 years old and 1 grey lionhead doe 3 years old with pedigree. The two bucks came from Vicki, a former member here. They seriously need homes!! I will sell them individually at $10 ea or trade for something else. If anyone is interested let me know.
2 things I don't do. Rabbits and cats.

As I lay in bed this morning, I placed two fingers against the side of my neck. Yep, I could feel a pulse so once again God has granted me the main ingredient for having a good day.

The first cup of coffee is already tasting like it needs to be followed by another and as the sky lightens enough to see out to the coops I spy another raccoon that ventured too close to my birds. That makes the 6th one this week and a quick shot has allowed him to join his playmates. While I regret having to dispatch any animal that I don't intend to eat, the coon population is out of control. This one gave me an additional reason to dislike him. My garden hose was within reach of the trap circle and he managed to chew up about a 3' section.

When A&E started showing it's new series "Longmire" I decided to check out the book series upon which the show was based. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the author Craig Johnson's efforts. Currently there are 8 books in the series and a 9th is due out later this year. They chronicle the investigations of the quirky sheriff in the Big Horn mountain area of Nevada.
I believe I'm up to 40 coons now. I'm just wondering if it will ever end !!!

Ha! Yeah, they'll appreciate it alright.

Now... a potting shed or small green house might be neat though. Especially a green house made with the "antique" boards and some old windows. Well, you volunteered, when you making me one? LOL!

Well, I just plowed under my beets, chard, and some radishes thanks to the darn deer. Guess it's time for some early venison. BTW, no coons here until the corn comes in. Unless you attract them with food they stay away. The chickens are locked up so tight I think they would survive a nuclear attack.
