People in Hawaii put Borax on their carpets.
They don't have a Winter there so insects including fleas are a HUGE problem.

By using the drops on the pets and the Borax on the carpets, the problem is solved without having to worry about any toxicity.

Olive eggers lay green eggs (a mix between a blue egg layer and a brown egg layer). We could save up a dozen for you if you would like. We have about 3 hens that lay green eggs.

neighbor took the pearl guineas to Ravenna. Earlene said if they didn't get rid of them she was going to kill them. Haha. My mom hated them too. I got a kick out of the bed springs. Now its going be so quiet again...

I saw them! They were the cutest things! (Besides the posing pidgeons :D)
I had to go one more time, still looking for a cochin to do my hatching instead of the mean orp. I would prefer blue or lav.............. There were 3 of them in a cage, but they were SUPER busy today and they were not only some of the "cleanest" birds there, but the few females............. Expensive! But i saw Randy, i may be able to get what i want from him. I really wish i could do turkeys too, but i don't have anywhere to put them. :( I am following the turkey feed discussion, i don't know anything about them yet either.

Does anyone know what might be wrong with this chick? It's been doing this for about a day now......I'm not so worried about the chick (cuz it's just one chick) but I'm worried about it possibly infecting my bigger girls.....it's got a cough or a sneeze thing going on???? I started a thread over in emergencies/diseases and gotten no real response.

I can now add watery poop to this poor girl's symptoms. IIRC, doesn't that indicate worms? Can you worm a 2wk old chick???? Either way, I'll pick up the Tylan in about an hour......

Keyt!!!!!
Sweetie, call me! I had a real struggle with the Turkeys at first. Maybe they need some of my magic turkey water. We can talk about what's going on and try to fix it!

The air sacks on a chicken go down their sides to the intestinal area. So an infected air sack will be inflamed and cause diarrhea by irritating the intestines next to it.

This chick looks to me like it has a severe respiratory infection. I would treat it with antibiotics for a good week or ten days and I would treat the chicks that are housed with it also! Good luck!

p.s. the diarrhea should resolve as the lungs heal. Keep the chick warm (offer it a brooder light to move under) and give it antibiotic at the appropriate dose!
