micro chipping

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I'm afraid I've never heard of ducks being micro chipped. Horses, dogs and cats yes but not ducks. You could ask in the duck section of the forum about micro chipping. Here is the link > https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks
Yiu could try asking your local vet about this too.

Wishing you the very best of luck I hope you find the answers to your question about micro chipping.

thankyou for replying , il have a gander at link . im worried about him being duck napped n whilst im sure micro chipping wont stop him being eaten it would give me hope of recovering him if hes sold on

Yes, anything *can* be chipped - however, an animal like a duck is unlikely to be scanned as it won't occur to most people it would be chipped as it is not a common practice for them - meaning the chip would likely do no good were your duck to become separated from you in any way.
