I just got a batch of day old chicks. I have been entertaining the idea of feeding my grown hens microgreens as a snack along with mealworms. They get layer pellets for feed, but I would like to enhance their diet. I was wondering if I could also feed the baby chicks a small amount of microgreens as well. If so, at what age should I add them.

I would wait a couple few weeks on the greens yet, get them started on their chick feed first. At 3 or 4 weeks you might introduce the greens. Make sure to sprinkle the greens lightly with parakeet grit for the babies gizzards, will help them grind the greens up.

Greens are wonderful detox for a chickens liver, I have always been huge on feeding greens, so many trace minerals they don't get from their feed, leafy greens have a powerful antioxidant called glutathione, which can help keep their liver healthy, warding off fatty liver disease which chickens are prone to. My birds get a big plate of mixed greens every day.
