Mid January Hatch thread....

Oh boy! Where do I start? i have eggs due on Jan 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th! 43 eggs total!

I had to get up early to check on my eggs... had a dream that the incubator got unplugged....

and I still have DAYS to go....


This is worse than pregnancy!

I have eggs currently in lockdown, due to hatch tomorrow. May hatch a lil late dut to lower temps in the bator the first week. I can't stand the wait!!!!

How many days between do you set eggs in a staggered hatch??? My Self Blue hens ARE fertile and still laying and I want to hatch as many as possible... but dont want them to set more then a week.... The hatch I have now is due the 22nd.....

lilcritters,jen85, If I had staggered sets I would have a second incubator that I could put the eggs in for lockdown, and have the sets a week apart.

I set 16 silkie eggs in my brand new RCom 20 incubator on the 3rd, and put 2 under my silkie hen that just went broody!!! Previously I have been using a LG, with pretty good success but me and hubs were tired of babysitting it because of temp drops and spikes so decided to get the Rcom as a Christmas present to ourselves, so far we love it, temp and humididty stay exact,

for a good hatch!!! This is also my first time putting eggs under a broody so I am very excited about this hatch!!!

I use 2 incubators! A Little giant forced air with turner for days 1 - 18 and then a little giant still air for lockdown and hatching!
