I did two more feeding sessions and also dunked her bottom in warm water for a few minutes to dislodge a little crustiness from her vent. Then blow dried her very gently.

Luna did NOT appreciate her spa day with me, but I was able to reintegrate her with the flock for the night. She was pecking around with them so I’m hoping she is taking a turn for the better.

Luna (orange band) is gradually improving - not out of the woods yet but she has her spunkiness back.

They got to go outside for the first time today. They lost their minds
Had the best time and screamed when I had to put them back in their tent.

Day 11/12 with the flock! Observing them, I have the feeling the majority of them are roosters

Still waiting for the test results to come back. It hasn’t been as quick as I would have expected.

On the upside it’s given me time to make some educated guesses for fun

Hermione, Hagrid, Neville and Dumbledore have been rehomed to a friend’s much larger farm.

Now it’s just the 5 ladies. They are almost 3 weeks old and doing great. I am trying to complete their chicken palace (coop and run) as fast as I can so they can move out of the tent in the garage.

They love being outside

The five HP hens are 1 month old today and have moved to their outdoor run and shed coop!

Last night was their first night in the shed. I installed a low roosting bar so they wouldn’t have to get up too high. I also ran a cord and plugged in the brooding plate for little Luna - she is mostly feathered but smaller than the rest. Low temps in the 50s here.

Imagine my surprise when I got them up this morning, all five were huddled together, cozy on the TOP bar!

I have a few more finishing touches I need to make to the run, then will install the auto coop door. Chose the Eglu one. At some point I will document the process of building the run and coop. It was quite a doozy as we are on a 20-30 degree slope. Started in May and finished in August, just in time

It was getting quite crowded for them (and us) in our garage! They are much happier out here.
