Midget White Turkey eggs

Thank you for the link.
Are they friendly like other domestic turkeys?
They are known for their super sweet attitudes. Mine love to cuddle and are always seeking me out. They know if they sit at the front door and make enough noise I will come out and play. Anytime I'm outside they will follow me anywhere including around on the 4 wheeler. They love to sit in my lap and take naps. Most people know that where the turkeys are is where they will find me.

I have a MW Tom just now approaching sexual maturity. He's adorable and friendly. If y'all wanna hatch MW, I think they're great pets. Probably good for the table, too - mine won't ever be eaten.

Just thought I'd add in my .02

And the best part is they aren't too heavy to carry around for my son unlike our Broad Breasted. They love to get spoiled and coddled by him.

Hello, I would like to purchase midget while turkeys eggs. I live in New Hampshire and would like to get the turkeys around the 2nd week of July. Would this be possible? Thank-you, Nathalie

Turkey eggs take 28 days to hatch. If you are saying you would like them to hatch around then you would want to recieve them approx. 4 weeks previous. These turkeys are not fast growing like the Broad Breasted varieties. They take 6 to 10 months to grow out nicely. I brought mine into lay a bit early this year because I would like them to have a little fat on them. They are an extremely lean turkey. So far every one I've hatched myself is already spoken for along with the next two hatches. In other words they are well liked. Because I brought them into lay a bit early they will not be laying into June. Midgets generally lay between 60 and 75 eggs a season, so that gives about 4 months. My turkeys should begin winding down in April at the latest, we did a nice hatch back in December and sold all but the last 4 poults. I let my son keep them as they hatched right before Xmas. If you want to get some before the girls are done just PM me. Otherwise there are several others on BYC that do sell the eggs later than me. Whether they will have them as late as June I couldn't say.

If you do get some Midgets you are going to love them. They are absolutely hysterical.

OK, thanks for getting back to me. Then would it be possible to have a delivery late March/early April? That sounds like a possibility from your e-mail. I am going away for 2 weeks in late June, that's why I wanted them later in the summer but I have a nice chicken house for them to stay in and my mother can feed them. Let me know and if so how much I owe you and what other information you would need. Thank-you, Nathalie

Ann

At what age do the hens begin laying? (I purchased 12 eggs from Ann just recently and am already thinking ahead! LOL)

Thanks,
Mary

BTW, Ann's eggs are absolutely beautiful and packaged with great care.

Hi, I was wondering at what age MWs can be processed? Is it at 20 weeks and the often quoted 13/8# point or is it later like most heritage turkeys around 26 weeks? Also, is there a point (like chickens) where they are less desirable to process? Thanks.
