I just read that giving chickens milk for a couple days will stop egg eating. Is this true? The only reason I can think of why it would help would be the calcium in it, and I already have oyster shell out.

I haven't found a tried or true method for solving egg eating, it seems what works for some, doesn't work for others, and sometimes that habit can never be broken.

I don't think most hens eat eggs for the shell, they eat them for the yummy yolk inside. At least, when I drop an egg, or one breaks in the nest box, that's what they go for. The do eventually eat the shell, but it's the last thing to go down.

No, don't give them milk, because what you'll really be giving them is diaoreah. Give her wooden eggs or imitation eggs.
I've heard that people even fill empty egg shells with mustard will get them off the taste for raw eggs, because after a bite into that shell....
