"Milk Replacer" for chickens

    The same people that make Calf Manna make a chick starter.

    It makes me wonder if folks sometimes feed milk replacer to chickens. A milk protein should make a suitable substitute for soymeal or fishmeal in a ration but I don't really know how closely milk replacer equals casein. And, some replacers do not use soy protein, some do.

    The Poultry Nutrition people at the National Research Council have a chick starter formula using casein.
