Mille Cochin Info

Hey Reyvaughn - where in the northeast are you? I'm over near Scranton!
I totally agree with you on being in a chicken-poor area....

I'm in, if we're having an autumn chickenstock!!

Question:
For chick color - only 1 out of my 4 eggs hatched, but he/she is silver on the back and pale yellow on the belly and legs. Any ideas what coloring will come through?

He/she has black "eyeliner" with a line coming off - does that mean roo??

I'm just outside Unityville - right down 118! I just went to Shickshinny for Lav Orps and Blue Wheaton/Wheaton Ameraucanas - lol - after we got lost and went all the way to Dallas.

I'm going to Erin's (Msbears) swap in Maryland on October 1st. I have been trying to figure out a place to hold a swap in my area, but I haven't found a place yet. I was going to ask one of the two local TSC stores, but they have no room in their lots. I'm still working on something for 2012.

I know... off topic. But, it would be nice to have someone close to get chickens from without having to drive 3-4hrs one way.

Thank you thank you...I also hatched out 3 lemon blues. And 2 of my eggs from my own flock, and got at least one frizzle. Ill have to post their pics on the cochin thread, to get thoughts on their color. They're from my blglack mottled frizzle roo and my blue hen

Some then and now pictures. They are hatched from Erins (msbear) eggs. Please let me know what you think? But remember, I'm sensitive. hahahahhhaha They are 14 weeks old now.

Charlie, you are going to have the most amazing flock! I can't wait until they are all grown up and have their complete shape together. You know they will be the bomb! I am sure the photos of them then will give us all a pause. I just love the calico ones. The dark Mottled/MF already has the shape of a real beauty. That is something fantastic to add to the breeding program.

Handsome dudes, fattie. Are you crossing with lighter colored hens?

And where did you get the name Tidy Bowl Man?

Are you trying to get him to scrub your toilets? If it works let me know, I have a lot of roos that need jobs!

It was sad that Nancy had to get out of her farming. She was just getting everything set up the way she wanted and then disaster struck. This past year or so has been horrible for her.
I am glad I got some of her stock before she completely sold out though. I have some gorgeous birds growing up here from her.
