Mille Cochin Info

I agree!! (about that chick's sweet little face)

Rugar was laying here, then she went broody and hatched *an* egg... but she didn't protect her chick. That was at least a couple of weeks or so before I sent her, so hopefully she'll get back to laying again soon!.

I think she should start laying now that her pen is set for winter. The only birds I would move in and out would be the chicks and Peppermint once the frizzle chicks start to lay. I've got until AMrch before they start anyways so my pen is set except for Tuba and her chicks.:)

Yah, Nigus was my only chick to hatch and look like that this year. I would have thought his pattern would of been better but I love him the way he is now. He is my only MF roo who is fully out of your bloodlines though. I am so happy I hatched him from your eggs!!

Mike, I'd put Nigus with Tuba. I bet they would make beautiful babies. :)

I have had such slow progress with improving type. I got a very nice Mottled boy and bred him to a Mille hen. I have one roo, Ike, from that pairing that I am just now ready to breed. (I actually have one 2 mo. old chick from Ike and a Mille girl.)
Ike has much better type than any Mille Fleur in my flock. I am anxious to see how breeding him will mess up color and pattern.
Ike and some calico girls-

I hear ya~! I'm experiencing the same thing. I just put my Blk Mottled x MF boy in with the Calicos. No one is laying yet but gosh I hope this is the ticket. I can already picture black chicks
