Mille Cochin Info

aw thats a shame. Whats your next venture? Shame u live thousands of miles away or you could have borrowed dante he seems to pass the breast flowers onto his sons. Where your journey is ending mine is just beginning! I hope you enjoy the birds you have left.

I opened space up for my chocolate bantam Cochin project. I am also adding Rhodebars and Marans. For 2yrs I haven't had chicken eggs to eat. I did have duck eggs last year.

I had 2 chocolate cochin bantams born not long ago. I hope they turn out nice. Got my fingers crossed. May even have a 3rd but hard to tell just yet as their just gettin wing feathers.

well, HM... I've noticed one girl in the nest off and on at all times of the day the last week or so, but no odd behavior otherwise. figured she was going broody. I was going to scold her tonight for taking up the nest box and she was dead... much heavier than my other mfc girls, I'm thinking she's either egg bound or laying internally...

one of my first 'homegrown' girls. but I still have her sister.

stunning birds I hope I manage to breed some typey looking birds like those soon. I have gotton rid of most of my birds which I cant see maturing the way I want. I have had to be hard on myself and have given up my chamois polish project as I had no space! Winter has been very wet this year which is frustrating but fingers crossed we have seen the sun this week! Hopefully it will continue. Your birds from last summer are looking good. Good luck this year!
Thanks and your keepers look great too! This is a fun project and I'm glad you're sharing your experiences with us :)

Sorry you had to give up your Polish - I'm really taking off with mine!

I do think Polish type in America might be different than in other countries though?

I love the type your project has. I recognize some birds in the first photo. Pretty sure I see Joxer peaking in on the side as well as Freaky? I love seeing you pics and trying to guess at the birds I know. Lol. But anyways, it looks like you made a lot of progress lately in type. They all look so nice and have nice pattern.

Just for you, Mike!

well you will have some nice dark eating eggs from marans. What are rhodebars are they rir cross barred rock? I have 3 eating egg birds outside a buff Orpington, black rock and an araucana cross silky. The little pekin eggs arent much good for eating!
