Mille Cochin Info

I'm gonna just repost this:
Is anyone selling mille fleur or blue mottled chicks or eggs

It's somewhat off season for eggs and chicks. I only have a couple Bantam Cochins laying at all right now and I don't sell them. Have you looked in the Buy/Sell forum?

Karen (ki4got) has lovely Mille Fleur bantams and most likely will have some eggs sometime in the near future.

but I can't wait to see how the grandbabies grow out... these are the first from Kepiru (known his, any earlier ones may have been his or his sire's)...

pics below are the girls in his pen, and Kepiru too. 8)

OMG ... he's awesome. I hope I get a roo that looks like that. Love the hens too. Beautiful. Can't wait to see how they grow out.

Karen, I love Kepiru.

Now, does anybody have a good way they keep records. I have some from this year but would like to have them easier and more organized. Any help would be great.

Wing bands Mike, I buy mine from Randall Burkey, these are what I get: http://www.randallburkey.com/Initialed-Zip-Wing-Bands-Color/productinfo/21051/#.Umr-340o7Z4
because I like the initialized ones, but you can get plain numbered ones other places too. The first time you buy them you have to buy the tool, too.
I also keep a notebook (or 3) and keep notes on everything.

Well, do you give certain birds a certain color so you know they hatched from a certain roo or do you have a different number on every one?

Yeah I figure I'll change color every year. They're numbered consecutively so you just write down in your notebook the band # and any info on that chick.

I number a page starting at 100 (or whatever # you choose to start with) on the top line, then go down the page. If I have a hatch of 8 MF chicks I'll write down color first, then I'll leave a space for gender, I mark if it's a frizzle, and in the middle of the page I'll use a } and write which pen the egg came from, then at the end I'll put the hatch date. That's how I do it anyway.
