YAY!

Hello everyone! I am offically a new owner of 2 MFC chicks. Enjaytoo was nice enough to let me have 2 of her project birds for my cranky broody. I will post pictures once broody lets me see them!

Ok. so, I was tired of being jealous over everyone's awesome milles so I called Lynne to see if she could select a trio for me. I never expected to see what I saw when I opened the box! Oh my... Lynne is known for her beautiful hens and I was so pleased to finally have some but, the icing on the cake was this little cockerel! His markings are just incredible and no squirrel tail to be seen!!

Update on my Mille Fleur.

Out of my first hatch. I have one pair. A really nice hen, and a plain red rooster. Barely or any mottling. They are really small. I hope they grow some more. Around 5 months old.

2nd hatch 3 hatched. One stayed out in the rain and died last week. And one got trampled by flock mates.

Leaving me with one 2 month old chick which I believe is a rooster.

Overall they are beautiful. But I am sad when I look at everyone elses lovely birds, and think how many I have lost. I have the worst luck with bantams it seems. I have that hardest time getting them to adult age. Then they live fine. Maybe next year I'll save my pennies, and just spring for an adult trio.
