I was given a couple last winter. Hen hatched 1 chick on June 13th. Seems it is possible to sex chicks early. What do you think? Including pics of parents - they seem chunkier than the standard.

Yes, 5 1/2 weeks. Are you looking at the comb? Thinking cockerel too but the comb is pale pink - hoping hen.

I've got d'uccles... my hens are five MONTHS old and they are just starting to get pinker combs.

Super helpful. I have been hoping for a girl. We just had one hatch. Next time one of my girls goes broody, I’m going to have her sit on a bunch of D’uccle eggs. Such lovely little birds.
