The are finally laying!!! I have two pens of mille fleur cochin eggs. One is mottled hens that are split to mille fleur, in with a mille fleur rooster. The other pen is mille fleur hens in with a mottled rooster split to mille fleur. I am getting usually from four to six eggs a day right now, and expect to get even more soon. There are a total of ten pullets in both pens combined, so there should be plenty of eggs for everyone. Fertility has been excellent here at home, and Phage recently reported 19/20 viable and developing out of shipped eggs!!! Read the details here. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=307933
I
am pricing them "by the egg" because not everyone wants a full dozen, or maybe you would like to mix and match with some of my other eggs and get a combined shipment. Some of my other varieties laying righ now are

BBS silkie
White Silkie/Showgirl
Large Dark Brahmas
Bev Davis BBS Copper Marans
Wade Gene/Ron Presley copper black marans
Mottled Javas
Barred Olive Eggers
Blue Olive Eggers
Lavender Orpington Project
Bourbon Red turkeys
Midget White turkeys

You can see photos and more info on my site http://pattycarson.com/poultry.html

Availability
variable on the above varieties, depending on orders and how they are laying. Prices vary from $3-20/egg. Most are $3. I would be happy to help you with your hatching plans for this spring if I have the varieties you are looking for. PM me for details, or even better, email me so my PM box does not fill every two days. freshairlady at earthlink dot net.

Local pickup available if we can work a time and place. No ranch tours.

Do you have any pictures of your b/b/s silkies? I looked on your site and only saw whites.

This is the hen that I am almost positive is laying. She was in with a different rooster with a very small comb and over time his fertility decreased. I just put a new roo in there several days ago. There are five hens but the others are broody so I'm about positive it is the darker of these two hens laying. The roo is the roo shown. They were about four months old in that photo. The roo's comb when he got older his comb and wattles got sort of purplish reddish, but not too bad, but they are no longer black. He is dark blue.

Here are some other views of the hen. I have a single comb hen in that pen, but this one is not her. She has a nice mulberry comb.

Is that the flock that is together in the picture the ones that the eggs are coming from? That rooster has an AWESOME cushion. I saw a different picture of him and he is awesome. How much are the Java eggs? Did you get them from Duane Urch? Do you have any more pictures? How much do they weigh? Are they friendly? Sorry about all the questions.

The eggs are coming from both flocks. One flock is the parents of the flock shown, and the other flock is the flock shown. I have pulled out the other roo that was in with the mille hens, so any eggs that say F3 will be fathered by the roo with the awesome cushion!

Java eggs are the same price, $3 each. Mix 'n match to your heart's content. I got my Javas from Robin Taber. Not sure where she got them from but they are from show stock and she shows and wins with hers. I haven't weighed the javas. They would be considered "aveage" weight for a decent sized layer I would say. They are not scrawny, and not "thick" either, just sort of middle of the road. The carry some fluffy bloomers and look a little bit bigger than what they are. They are gentle natured, but I have not made them pets. The place their pen is, it is just sorta tucked in the back and they don't get much action except to get fed or get eggs picked up or the pen raked. I took one to a lady's house once to look at and it just sat in her lap for nearly forty five minutes while she petted it and talked and kept saying "she's as soft as a hound's ear!" LOL looked like she liked it. They are not flighty or panicky like ameraucanas or leghorns often are. They are nice birds to have around. When they were younger they would forage like a little army, tight formation. They don't get out now because of what pen they are in.

I heard that they really stick closely together when they forage. I would so like to get some because of their status on the ALBC list. They sound like the perfect bird. I will PM you when I am ready. Thanks!!

This is $3 per egg, right? So a dz would cost $36 unless someone wants more eggs added that cost more per egg?

That is correct.

News flash... silkies are all broody again, so no silkie eggs available.

News flash #2 ignore the $25 dollar bid. it is a mistake. You don't have to bid on the eggs, just PM me if you want them. As of this posting I have a dozen plus ready to go out today if someone paypals me in the next hour or so, otherwise they will go out tomorrow.

Update. I have one dozen going out tomorrow, (plus extras)
I have two dozen going out next week. I am still accepting orders but just letting people know the time frames. Thanks for those of you that bought. If you have any questions or want to be next in line, PM me. Thanks. Hatch on!
