I found out today that Miller processing in Flowlerville Michigan is going out of business. Their landlord is not renewing their lease. They tried finding a different location, but no luck. Its a shame. Nice people.

That's really too bad . When I was young there were processing/butcher shops in the three towns surrounding the village I grew up in , our village of 700 had a grocer who bought beef halves and cut steaks / ground hamburger to order , and at least three guys I can remember who would go out to the farm with us and slaughter and cut up a beef for us on the " down-low " in the late fall . Now its a dying art . Of the 5 feed mills I thought I knew to be within a few miles of where I live now , I discovered in Sept that 4 were sold out and now used as storage facilities for a grain market speculater .
ETA : I should explain we owned the farm and cattle , " down-low " was not stealing LOL , my mother refused to leave the " city " so we lived in town , but even there we lived on 10 acres with horses and livestock so I led a blessed life in my opinion
