Mini American Game Breeding Project(From Scratch)(And Discussion Thread)

Nice thing about this New Guy, he's got 4 toes, & semi-clean legs unlike his brother. So I should have less to breed out with him.

I lost a favorite stag a couple mornings ago. Worst part it was my own fault. We had a bad freeze last week so I used the electric fence extension cord to put a heater by water pump. We'll after the freeze passed I plugged the extension cord back in to the electric fence. I totally forgot I unplugged the other end of the cord from the outlet. Went in the back yesterday to find him ripped out his pen and half eaten. Just goes to show you can't be laxed. We have to be right every time, they only have to be right once. Liveand learn I guess.

I believe so. It's crazy a grown stag got pulled through a 4x4 square. My pens are 2x4 welded wire but one wire is cutout on a side to make a square so they stick their head out to drink. I have their waterers on the outside and it managed to get him right there. The only spot they could have. How many you got now

Little Dude: Blue Face/Silkie X Mille Fleur D'uccle/OEGB/Silkie X Blue Face Hatch.

Little Dude's Brother: Same^^^.

I know the list of chickens for the project seems like alot, but I've got a Breeding strategy I'm gonna use.

Here's the next step in the breeding order: Maximus, & Magnus X Blue Face Hatch Hen, Blue Face/Oriental Cross, Massima, & Maxima.

After that I'll pair, or group Maximus, or Magnus with Red JungleFowl, & Sumatra Hen.

Next year, if I can't do it this year for whatever reason, the Red JungleFowl Rooster will be paired with the Blue Face Hatch Hen.

Here's a sample of how the breeding will work.
