Looks brassy back
I would have thought pure Partridge at a glance but if it had Birchen down Birchen is reasonable@Amer
What would this Coloration be exactly? Is it due to Birchen, Dark Brown, & Charcoal, or something else? The mother is Black, Split for Wildtype. Father is Red Breasted Blue Birchen.

What I meant by looks like a little quail I was comparing her to the bird not the color quail.Looks brassy back
The chick was brown like his dad. The father feathered out to be a Red Breasted Blue Birchen. The father's mother is Red Duckwing.Looks brassy back

Could the father be carrying something?
Yes I still think so
Other possible father is Magnus who's blue Golden Birchen with some golden lacing in the breast feathers, & carries mottling. He was paired with the two hens as well.Looks brassy back
