Mini peacock feathers on Silkie?

Your chicks are too young to be sporting streamers. These usually will make their appearance around 14-16 weeks of age and will always be on the head. My silkie mix has the same feathers on her tail....or she did. I don't know if they were young immature feathers that molted out, or if she still has them. I haven't payed attention lately but can look.

My 4-5 week old silkie chick (possibly mixed? - doesn’t have much of a head poof) has these teeny peacock feathers coming off of his/her tail too! Tried to take some pics - they aren’t great but they look similar to what your chick has growing out. My chick also has small light colored patch on his/her head growing out.
