Wow the 2 broken black ones that arn't showable look like they have Dutch in them no doubt about it!!!

I have never seen a dutch marked rex before - but i was think ing imeediately not showable. Competitive breed to show - wish you the best of luck!

Those two are only slightly marked like a dutch, not really even close to show quality dutch.

That was my guesses on sex as well

I hadn't sexed something this young before (15 weeks was my youngest) so I wanted to double-check . I had read that the brokens had the wrong eye colors, but wasn't sure if they would still be good for breeding stock. Wasn't sure if the others were showable or not. But as long as I have at least high-quality pet minis right now, then thats fine by me

I'm thinking I want to keep 2 from this litter, but not sure which ones. My kids are very partial to #4. I currently have a BEW doe, Black Buck, and Tort Doe. Thanks everyone for the tips and advice!

Here, I will explain the Blue eyed "Brokens" They are pure mini rex im very sure, the thing is with the Blue Eyed White(BEW) gene you will get Vienna marked which is a colored rabbit with white like a broken but it has blue eyes NOT SHOWABLE. If you are wanting to breed for BEWs I personaly would keep the best VM or Solid Normal and take them back to Sire or dam. I could help you with type but its easy if they are posed correctly or at least a tad. Though if you are not wanting to breed for BEW DO NOT USE any of these as they carry the gene for it and will mess up your color and lines for a long time to come. So really these kits will only be useful to you if your breeding for BEW.

I purchased the pair with the doe already pregnant at a farm swap a few months ago. I have been looking for a BEW papered buck to breed with her , but no luck as of yet. She had an additional 3 Broken black kits (spotted broken) that passed away due to her creating 2 nests and not feeding them. If I breed a tort doe with the black buck, would I get any acceptable color variations? Or do I need to find same color breeding pairs?

Also thank you for the tips on stance. I have looked up websites and will be working with my rexes. You all rock!

According to the site I posted you can breed black with Tort. We had a simaler problem when we started with the mini rex, we had a chinchilla buck and not knowing better got a beautiful black otter doe. We ended up with a beautiful litter of one castor, one chinchilla and two black otter, but as they grew the castor and chinchilla ended up with wrong colorings, red in the chinchilla and black/grey in the castor.
Anyone know if this is the only breed where the colors you cross are so important?

I know this conversation was a long time ago but I just want to add that the first comment told you how to pose holland lops, not mini rex. mini rex and holland lops are two different ball games sorry for the random comment but nobody brought it up.
I also wanna add that along with #2's fully white nose, her ears need to be fully colored. You could still show her as long as she has color on her nose but her ears are a major fault. she may win something if theres not much other competition. you can always try but I would say the solid black has some good things going on from what i can see in the pic. Did you ever show any of your bunnies?
I also wanna say you should definatly breed your vienna marked rabbits for BEW. they're gorgeous. Vienna's are a show disqualification unfortunatly but BEWS arent and they're hard to find. if you ever find one with at least one leg its gonna be worth some money.
