I don't have a good picture to attach (I'll try to get one later), but I have a question about two of my 8 week old chicks. All of them eat and drink well. They are all active and healthy. Most of them are around the same size except two. One is half the size of the rest of them and the other one is about half the size of that one. I wasn't supposed to have any bantams, but it is possible. These two are mixed breeds, so I know they won't necessarily be the same size as the other breeds, but the size difference is extremely significant.
At first we thought the two small ones were little roos. We have a dominant male of the same age and it wouldn't surprise me if those two didn't get as much food. But...they're always standing right next to the dominant male eating and drinking as much as they want. So now I'm wondering if they could be bantams.
I know without a picture it is hard to answer, but with this kind of size difference would people expect they are non-dominant males, bantams, or both? Or is there some other factor I'm missing entirely?
