Miniature Horse Information?

Yep, my Mustang mare adopted our 4 month old mini stud colt. She had never had a baby but started producing milk for him, not a lot but it was milk. Our vet laughed his butt off. The bad thing is that he is now 2 and she just stopped in the last few months. She kept waiting for her little boy to grow up...

So if you have a mare watch her........... she might think it's her baby.

My mini pastures with a goat and pot bellied pigs. The youngest male pig and the mini are best buddies. The pot stands underneath the mini when he grazes and grazes too.
One thing to keep in mind with mini's, especially if you get a young one, is not to let them get away with anything you wouldn't allow a full size horse to do. I have seen several nasty little ones that bit and kicked because the owner thought it was cute when they were young. They can be a lot of fun to have around when they have manners.
I agree with watching their weight too.
