Mink proofing problems

How would you go about that? Wouldn't the wire short out from being by the grass. Wouldnt the mink would just go under
Mine has never shorted out. Put a wire low to the ground (just a few inches up), one about 1 - 2 feet up, and one at the top. Predators will sniff the wire and get zapped. I've also noticed that they seem to sense the electricity and just steer clear. I have electric around my chickens and my goats. So far, so good.

ETA: I should have said that I use electric netting, which is much more expensive, but we found it works better here on our hilly terrain. Plus, we can maneuver it around trees and move it when we feel like moving it.

Here's an excellent article on using electric: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/a-treatise-on-electric-fences-for-poultry.72229/

Like @Aunt Angus, I have electric netting.

Premier 1 has excellent customer service. I'm sure they'd help design a system for you. https://www.premier1supplies.com/

Or you could ask at your local farm store if there is someone knowledgeable available to help you figure out what you need. Baiting the wires is important in order to teach the predators to steer clear of your fence.

Hubby said he'll pick up some fencing wire. Hopefully a mink will be deterred. We have sprayed wolf pee around the coop and yard and have not seen anything on the trail cam I put up

That will buy time to get the electric fence up, probably. It tends to work only until they get used it which takes the longer the more well fed they are without what people are trying to protect.
