I'm not a fan of mink farms, but this is such a sad event for those mink and the local wildlife, at least. Can't say anything positive about these people...

A male mink can travel up to 25 miles in a day. A female, not so far. I read that there are hunters taking advantage of this release to trap/shoot them. They will likely to be easier to catch/kill because they aren't used to being loose. The Van Wert Sheriff dept has warned people in that area to make sure their poultry (and other small animals) are secure. Mink can get into really small holes. They are vicious and have been known to kill an entire flock without eating them all. This article might be useful. "I’m local enough to be concerned about this! How far will mink travel, I wonder? That’s a LOT! At least it seems like it!
