And if any laws arose I’d follow them

There are no laws in keeping and owning a "farm" mink. They are considered a domesticated farm animal, like any cow, goat, chicken, etc. If you plan on trapping a wild mink, you may need to get a licence from your state department of fish and game. However, if you are serious about getting a mink, I suggest you contact Joseph Carter, the mink man.

After I successfully tame and train a mink I hope to work with other mustiledaes like fishers, short/long tail weasels, pine martens, and otters. I’d love to work with all them and they are incredible animals and I really want to work with them in the future. The mustiledae family is adorable!

I love this thread. Do you have the book, The New Sport of Minkenry? I highly recommend it! Just a suggestion, I'd stick with a farm mink if I were you. There are very strict laws about owning wild animals.

Just finished reading the thread. Very interesting place to find a mink thread. lol. Mink and chickens really don't mix well. Like oil and water. Any updates on your adventures in trapping a mink? Be careful at this time of the year. The females have recently had their babies so you don't want to trap and keep a female as you could end up killing a whole litter unintentionally.

I suggest you do a some more homework on fur farms in your neck of the woods. You may find that there are still some operating. Write them a letter explaining what you would like to do. You may find someone sympathetic to your desire who will sell you a healthy farm mink in your area. They have kits right now and in the next 5-6 weeks it would be ideal to get a young one to raise.

Good luck. Oh and go buy Joseph Carter's book, "The New Sport of Minkenry", if you don't have it. If you plan on raising and training a mink, that book is a must. You will find it on Amazon.

The only problem is that the book is sorta expensive. I’d buy a mink but my parents are strictly saying no to that. Mostly everything and more in the book Joseph has gone over in his videos and on message boards. Are you interested in minkenry yourself?
