Hello all. My name is Dave and I just started my flock with a dozen pullets from tractor supply just yesterday. Been lurking on this site as well as googling a lot for the last year.

Hello Dave and welcome to BYC!

So glad you could join our community! What breeds did you get? If you have any questions, that is what we are here for. Enjoy your new poultry adventure and welcome to our flock!

As of the moment I don't recall what breed we got from tsc. Will have to double check later. Hoping to get some Cornish for meat birds.

Thanks for the info on the food for meat birds. Does that apply to when they are chicks too? I plan to keep them in a tractor as soon as it is warm enough to get them outside. 3 square feet per bird is good right?

Yes. They can start meat bird crumble now. But you dont have to feed them meat bird crumble. Mine I did not give them the food because of all the added hormons to make them grow faster. Mine r 1 year and 3 months or so and were butchering them Saturday. Other wise there legs will breke. Sadly.(I can't spell.)
