Minnesota!

Do people really eat that....errrr.. batcrap?

I LOVE grilled zucchini with a drizzle of olive oil and salt and freshly cracked pepper, or split lengthwise and cooked with the same ingredients and grated parmesan cheese on it.

I was just looking up the recipe for ratatouille as well, and see it calls for eggplant. I am not about to sludge out to the one plant I know has one on it today though, so that will have to wait until the next couple of zucchini are ready.

My daughter made a yummy zucchini bread with lemon glaze for fair last year and it was delicious. My mother makes zucchini bars that taste like regular old brownies, and my kids love them!

I even eat kale. I don't love it, but I will eat it, just not cooked.

And Ralphie, why don't you just use the icons at the top of the editor box to load your photos? the one that has a rectangle with what looks like two peaks and a circle, click on it. It will then give you the option to upload from your puter. That is how I have done mine for the entire time I have been on BYC. That was before the click and drag option was added, which never works for me anyway.

Also, I have a huge fan of the State Fair, but mostly for the animals to see. The food is second, but that isn't as good as it was when we moved to MN and started going 17-years ago.

I use the icons to load everything,

I use copy and paste a lot too for other things.

When I asked I was having trouble pasting the youtube URL into the box.
My putor hates me!

I eat Zucchini in bread and like that...

I planted 10 hills of eggplant and not one of the silly things germinated..

My aversion to the fair is not the exhibits, BUT the last time I was there I missed the old machinery hill from when I was a kid..

We did the Carlton County fair when our kids were younger, and really enjoyed it. BUT as I got older I got less and less tolerant with crowds.

I am thinking of going to a bird show if we have any next year... If I can get the crowds to stay away.

BC!!!!

Did you know you posted Cyrus and my pictures on BYC without our permission??

You can clearly see us at the family reunion. look!

See us back there right in front of the motorhome?
We are the ones drinking beer.

Here I blew it up a little so you could see us better..

We are right behind the guy in the flannel shirt,,

If you figure out how to keep them away, let me know so I can see the bird show also. I can't tolerate crowds either, and it does get worse the older I get.

HELP!!!

I need a putor nerd!!!!

For some reason I can no longer use crtl-v to paste to byc..

is there a reason for this? Did I touch a key I should not have? I cannot use ctrl-c to copy either

Oh boy.,,,, This is the end of the world!!

I heard computers would revolt and take over the world. is this the beginning?

Oh, and what makes this worse is the paste/cut commands are not coming up either...
I have been getting the same problem lately. Haven't tried anything yet, but erasing the history and restarting the browser might work. If I figure it out I will let you know.

I wouldn't really worry to much about an eagle sticking around to try and pick off a chicken. They feed primarily on carrion and fish.
The one predator that I have around here. Thought I was in luck with this post but noooooo.

We had a group of about 5 or 6 eagles here last fall. Stuck around about a week if I remember correctly. Do they migrate as families? Some had white heads and the others were juvies yet. One was perched right behind my house. I walked right up to the tree and was checking it out. It just sat there looking at me. It was huge! They also perched above the goose house at the time. No bird losses last fall and I was surprised! They are incredibly loud also. The screech is indescribable. I am hoping they decide to not stop by our place this fall. I have way more birds and younger ones too.

My egg count was down 50% yesterday. Obviously I am assuming it was related to the heat the previous days. We already have more today.

I harvested some beans and got them in the freezer today. I tried to plant some peas, carrots and spinach for a fall crop. They look good so far. Been in the ground about 3 weeks I think. Coming up nicely. I pulled more beets so I will be canning those tomorrow. I am waiting ever so patiently for the cucumbers to come in so I can try my hand at pickles. I have 11 pints of Dill Beans already. Good times with the harvest coming in. I staggered my spring planting so I would not be overwhelmed with it all coming in at once. I have not done anything with zucchini but make bread with it. The family loves it so why not. I can grate it and freeze it for use in the winter months to make a nice yummy loaf of bread on a cold snowy day. MMMmmm smells so good!

What was on your menu for supper tonight? Been in the kitchen all day last thing I want to do is make supper. Not sure what we will have tonight. Tacos maybe. Easy enough and we get to use up some lettuce from the garden with out the kids fussing about salads AGAIN. :)
