I think you're right. She is just mean and vicious!

I went out to check her and she was off her nest eating. I went to the nest to count eggs and mark them. There was a new turkey egg there. She was not broody she was just laying an egg! If that is what she is like when she lays an egg, I can't imagine what she will be like when she does go broody!

I left her 13 marked eggs, I hope that is enough to get her to go broody.

Welcome to the thread KlopKlop.  You are quite fortunate to be so close to a source of real quality chickens of many breeds.  I of course am referring to Duane Urch or Urch/Turnland.  If I was close to that operation I would be tempted to keep way too many different breeds and too many chickens.  I might even get up to half as many birds as Duluth Ralphie.

I've not heard of Duane before but will have to look him up. Most of my birds came from hoovers in mason city

I just sold the last of my pullets. He'll be back in 2 weeks for more. That way I know genders. I feel bad my turkey started doing the fighting dance with his 3 year old. He loved my Splash Cochin roo and his wife loved my tom and his daughter was in heaven with all the chicks. Especially the fluffy footed and bearded ones.

I got most of mine from Hoovers too, They always treated me well, and given me good birds.

Yes they are great and sell quality birds. we only lost as many broiler chicks as we did this spring due to the wild temperature swings this spring. We built a new hover/ohio brooder and we struggling to keep it warm enough at night and cool enough during the day. We learned a ton and will have changes to make to the brooder for the next batch.
