Yes, all the pullets are 21 or 22 weeks. I have no idea who lays the behemoth.WOW.. How old is the girl that laid the little one? Is that from this springs chick?

Wow eggs at 21-22 weeks, That is great! I did not get any until 26 weeks last year. My oldest are about 16-17 weeks, so I assume I have another 2-3 months until I get eggs, I hope I am wrong. I might have to lock the girls up pretty soon, so they get use to coops and nests.
If you look at a map there is a dot between Makinen and Aurora that is where Palo is. And I have no idea what town you speak of with a purple parrot. I have only been here on the Range 12ish years so I don't know all the ins and outs.As someone from Orrock, (which I can find downtown in because of the liquor store and gas station)
I have to say.... maybe... I have heard of Palo, but no idea where it is.
Sorry about the misspell.. I have a friend buried in the Makinen cemetery, I assumed that was the down town. Oh and BTW the more remote of a place you live in the better...... To me being a redneck is a badge of honor.
For the record not all rangers qualify. I have a BIL and SIL that live between Makinen and Gilbert or ( the town with the purple parrot that I could never spell) and they would never make into the super redneck club and would be PO'd if someone thought they might be.
Okay this sounds dumb but I need help canning. I have not canned since I was a child with my parents. I don't 'know' the obvious things so I have to look everything up all the time.
I am going to attempt to can beets for the DH. I found a recipe I think will work. It has the most detailed directions and the best reviews.

I bought canning jars and the beets have been picked. So now it is show time and I am scared. Funny, I have no problem taking out a nasty rooster and serving him up but canning has my knees knocking. What gives?
I did lettuce on a seed tape and it worked like a charm. I also did carrot seed tape. That did not work. 3 carrots out of the whole thing. My spinach has wilted/died and I was going to pull it and plant more. Can the chickens have the old spinach or should I give it to the pigs? That recipe I would try. I like canning, but my canning is limited. I can do pickles and Saurkraut. I am afraid to try anything with a pressure cooker. They scare me.
I did make some canned corn off a recipe I found on "allrecipes.com" ( spelling could be wrong, but I started reading on it and decided to throw it away because some people (internet experts) said the recipe was not acidity enough and the corn would cause some deadly something to grow.
I have never tried beets, I was hoping to this year, I planted a row of beets using those seed tapes and I got 2 beets to grow out of the whole row. Did you know chickens will eat beet tops even if they are your last 2?
