Minnesota!

Minnie wanna trade for a turkey??

My DW would hold a pillow over my face while I slept if I bought home more birds right now.

I have not quite got her training complete yet....... I would love those birds but I really am at the end as far as the number of birds I can have right now...

Maybe you need a shiny new pair of Guineas?
Well, if I didn't have 15 turkeys already, I might consider it. If I had a way to keep the guineas from being the sacrificial birds to the predators (due to the things being too wild to tame), I would consider that also. I don't have guineas for the mere fact that if the fox, yotes, such getting them, my dogs surely would as I wouldn't keep any unless I could let them free range. Otherwise, I would jump right on that!

We wash chickens for showing and it is never a dry condition.

Spent half the afternoon getting the hoop for the turkeys ready for them to go in. It is not done, but done enough that they have shade and some shelter, water and feed are under it. Now, they are afraid to go in. The tarp skeerd them! I got one end mostly framed but have to work on it more. It was too dang hot out there to keep going. BLAH!! looking forward to the highs in the 70s coming up!

I got enough materials to do another hoop. I need to get on that early this week and get some juvies out on pasture that are being idiots in their pens. I want to split the pullets all out from the cockerels too since they are stupid with the girls at their ages.

The work never ends. I did clean the little meatballs out. Some are getting big enough that it is tough to pick on up in one hand at 2.5 weeks old. I have a couple of runt ones, which I hate seeing. Oh well, they will still taste good.

Your chicken math is all wrong.....you need three to make it even dozens. Unless......you're a generous type person and need bakers dozens. That would mean another three on top of the other three. Of course... that would make a total of 39.... can't have an odd number like that, so maybe one more. Then as long as you have 40, you might as well get 10 more and have half a hundred, (now, that is a nice round number).

I believe that's the way chicken math works!

True, But my family would kill me if I got many more chickens... At least until next year when I get goats and decide to put a nice big flock of chickens with them:)

Rhett, I took pictures during chicken TV time of the birds I think your chick will look like. Except yours will have feathers on their backs, Unless Ole moves north again.

I could be wrong, but I think I got the right two here.

Why would you tell your family?

Just move the chickens in and feign ignorance when they ask where they come from. Just say, "I think it was migrating flock that decided to join our flock". It works every time.
