A few photos of Grumpy Girl. She is still not the most pleasant female to be around but has lots of personal space to be grumpy in.

Anyone think she might be a rooster?

I can almost guarantee old Alice...er...grumpy girl is still a rooster. Is there a reason you think he is a she now? He had the reddest, most pronounced comb of the bunch at the earliest age. Check out the rust feathers coming in on his wings too.

Copper sulfate is often part or always part of the formulated feed. Although beneficial for setting up an inhospitable tract for worms-some folks say - it is most often used medicinally for fowl pox I believe. It is not overall an effective wormer.
When we had blackhead go through I did some researching and had some more informed BYC members help me with wormers.

My chickens have friends too. Ironically my smallest hen hangs out with my largest. They're kind of my square pegs. Dixie the silkie and Daisy the buckeye. I'll see them grazing a lot together. Of course Roger keeps his chicken claw on all of them so theyre mostly all flocked together. He mostly surrounds himself with those though who are most likely to propagate his genetics. So those would be at this time the creamette, BLRW, silkie, buckeye. These girls not quite in henopause.

Sylvia is looking great. I think her molt finished a good 2-4 weeks earlier than last year. She's pretty shiny and spiffy and ready for winter. She is something else. What a goofy bird. We'll see if she picks up some laying now. She's past her prime laying years but last year after her molt she gave me a couple weeks of eggs.

What did you use for wormer?

Some folks here brought up the possibility, that's all.

It doesn't matter to me. Grumpy and I have a great relationship. :)

Ha! Well, if he is a she I will fall over from shock. He has a red comb at about 7 weeks old on. I think I see point saddle feathers too. He is no charmer, but has his way into your heart...that grumpy ;) haha

I'm bummed. Last night one of our leghorns was MIA at nighttime lockdown. She is the one who likes to fly the coop to go visit buck. She didn't come back last night and no sign early this morning. Hopefully she found a safe roost somewhere and comes home today.
So sorry. Any sign yet? She should come back. Hopefully without the walk of shame ;-)

Quote: Nice! Very fun machine!

Thank you, Scandia!

With all this talk of two wheeled fun machines. I think I need to bust out the ole honda reflex scooter and we could all go out in a ride sometime

Does 70? A 250. Right? I have seen that kind of scooter as big as a 500. Hard to call something that big a scooter.

We can start the BYC MC Minnesota chapter!! :)
