Minnesota!

every time I try to involve myself in another forum I end up irritated. Or wondering how shallow the gene pool is where some of those people live.
I'm happy that Mn thread is here and the people are GREAT..Ive went to other threads also and it seems like the chickens have to be quality show chickens are they are not worth anything but eating.. I know my Girls probably wont be on the high class list but they are my Beautiful girls and here i know they wont be degraded to being dirt...I Love how every one here seams to get along and its OK to ask questions without being made to feel like a dumba$$...So Thank You All for accepting this Newbie and her new Chicks.....

If I could count on the stupid, B.....uggars to go into the coop tonight, I could just cage them and do a spinal readjustment on them in the morning...

But they seem to know when I want to talk to them and avoid the coops on those days.

Seriously tho - do you train your guineas to come to treats? I started with a cowbell when they were a couple of days old. They hear the bell now they come running -- well not in this heat - it's more like a stroll - but they know that means a food treat. So far so good and not had to hunt mine down - but the local fox or raccoon has had a decent mess of guinea sushi this year.

It is amazing how that happens!

When I first got my creamettes, I went to the cream legbar thread and posted pictures. I was made fun of for calling them "crested Creambars".. they had a list of things wrong with my birds. Which is kind of funny, because I think Heidi showed them in Hutch and they did well, if I recall correctly.

I know the roosters comb is not right, but that happens in MN winters. it lost its 7 points.

Have great trips Bogtown and Scandia, gonna be a cooker!

Progress photos on the bigger run:

I'm up loading these from my phone, hopefully it works...
Awesome job. Can't wait to see the finished product. How many chickens will you have after you fill the empty void.

Finally I have my Girls home and in the coop.. I ordered them from Murray McMurry and they came from Claborn Family Farms. They are all 4 wks old.. I'm supposed to Have 6 total Hens....1 Old Silver Laced Wyandotte~~ 1 Old Red Star ~~ 1 Old Rhode Island Red ~~ 1 Old Buff Orpingtons ~~ 2 Araucana/Ameraucana.......Since I'm not a chicken expert I'm not for sure what they sent me, the only ones i can tell are the SLW and the Buff they are all supposed to be females.. fingers xx'ed... can any1 tell me what ones are what??? thanks.....

Quote: Right? If you are like me, and I know I am. You will start worrying about every little thing with your new chickens. Then ask question after question. If the people on this thread put up with my 101 questions. They can put up with anything. And I am bad. Only time I have been around chickens has been all of an hour before I had my own. Super newbie here.
Yep. The people on this thread are far better than others.
