Just a bunch of whipper snappers or something on that one, must be. I have heard that since I was a little child. It was what one said before one learned to get away with getting the (poop) scared out of them. If someone found offense at that, they need to check themselves for a mental condition.
Heck, even Idina Mentzel dropped the "f" bomb a few times at her concert the other night and no one seemed to upset. However, I was a bit surprised considering there will some little boys and girls there.

The thread was not a thread of whipper snappers, it was so old people, the thread was even named so you knee ( read I knew) it would be all OLD people.

Ralphie: I read a little of the posts on the thread in question. May I just say there is just a little hoytie Toytieness there and they are even hosting some of the biggest trouble makers I've ran into on that thread. There is a section of our country...and I'll not shout it out loud...but they generally are not that friendly, and all could do with some "Nice Manners" boot camp in the Midwest if I do say so myself.

BC I am not aware of the part of the country of which you speak, BUT my house in Florida is on a block of people from a certain large east coast city where some terrorist flew airplanes into buildings, I will not name the city either. The "neighbors" are brash, rude, loud, over bearing and then there are some really bad neighbors too, all from the same unnamed city. Not a fun block to have a house on.

This weekend I saw that store eggs were over $3 a dozen and sure enough there was a line up for egg day this morning at work. I was sold out in just a few minutes. (I sell for $3)
I can't wait for my pullets to start earning their keep because I will have no problems selling

I was looking at your pictures again. They are great. That water falls would have been so tempting to just sit in and get drench with the heat this weekend.

The one picture of the dog sleeping is a keeper!

When we got our white lab, (my old dog) We decided to actually have a trained dog for a change instead of a dog that just picked up what we told it and tried to teach it. We went to petsmart and enrolled in their dog classes. When we would start the evening we were suppose to socialize our dogs and make them comfy being there. We would do that, then calm them down to learn.

Reagan came over to my lap and laid on it ( I was sitting on the floor so she was more on my legs than lap. I started rubbing her belly, She will do anything for a belly rub. She rolled over like your dog is, and almost fell asleep as I rubbed her belly with all 4 feet in the air. The "instructor", a young gal of about 18, got mad at me and really chewed me out because "Dogs don't like to lay on their backs"....


It is a phrase my wife and I use all the time now, because our dogs seem to love laying on their backs. No matter how many times we tell the dogs " Dogs don't like laying on their backs" they still do..

Well, I have to actually get some work done in this nicer weather. I need to run to Elk River and get 10 more bags of grower for my CX's. They are going through so much everyday, even with my with holding all they want. They are so healthy and fun right now. If I have them free ranging and I walk any wheres towards my shed near them they all come running and flying! One of them must have flown 40 ft about 3 ft up it was so funny! I know most of you do not think very highly of CX's, but dang I love them. They are the sweetest birds. Too bad it is so hard to keep them alive for any length of time.

I am going to keep 3 hens and 2 roosters over winter, continuing to limit their feed and try and get eggs for hatching next spring.

I am going to try and video the birds being released this morning too, so I can post a picture of Bert Jr and Bertha being released, (my toads) they are so funny when they run.

Wow, mine are 3 a dozen, like klopklop... and people still seem put off by paying that much... I really do not care and it shows. I am indifferent to selling eggs, I can eat them, my kids families like them. So if I sell them great, if not I really do not care. I can feed them back to the chickens for all I care..

It is nice being old and crotchety and not giving a poop....

Yep I am not in it to get rich and $3 a dozen more than pays the feed bill (and only 17 of 48 are laying). My coworkers appreciate it and it's kind of a 'friends and family' price. If I was going to sell at a farmers market where I knew I wasn't going to get the egg carton back I would probably ask $4

Me too.. Mine does not cover my feed costs at all, but then I have a ton of freeloaders. all my turkeys, guineas and young ones.

The CX do not count as I have a "special" accounting system for them. I am raising them but my daughter, son, son's mother in law and a neighbor are splitting the costs on them. The deal is they all have to be here for camp day.
