Minnesota!

So I was pricing out the roos on craigslist.  They range from free to $25 each for show birds.  Most of the ads are asking $5 to $10 each.  Wow.  I had no idea they were so cheap.  So basically I won't even be able to give them away.  Craigslist is saturated with chickens.  Bogtown it looks like you were giving sound advice.  I just am sick and tired of feeding them already.

Yup.
I laugh my butt off when I see someone posting their roosters for sale this time of year and asking$20-30 for them. Everyone is trying to offload their extras or the ones they accidentally got when they ordered chicks. I sold my last batch for $7 each at 3-4 months old. Sometimes I advertise for a month and don't get takers, other times I post the ad and they are sold in a couple of hours.

I have never been to the state fair. Someday I hope to go. Won't be this year though, unfortunately.O
Everyone needs to experience the state fair at least once. I have gone to the fair at least twice each year for the last 40 years. I won a trip to the fair every year i was in 4-H and then became a judge for the state 4-h program. We used to live in the 5th wheel camper at the on-site camp ground the entire fair.

We usually get there no later than 8 am, parents are getting older so we are not the first through the gates at 6 am anymore, and usually don't leave until around midnight. My siblings and their families are the same way, never miss it.

Have fun at the fair everyone !!!!

I just meant more country folks are listening to country music vs. more cultured mpr stuff. Ha. My sister lives in the cities and I do like to shop there.... Sorry if that came off wrong. I count on my city friends to keep me updated with the latest styles, cuts for jeans and aioli recipes.

Quote: I ran out of ovations!!! It even said so this time! Ha! :) Well. Once I get restocked..... Thumbs up to both of you for now..

If anybody here mixes their own grains/scratch Mills fleet farm has whole and cracked corn for 6.50 a bag right now which is as cheap as I ever see it.

Here is my scratch recipe:
10 parts whole corn
5 parts whole Oats
5 parts whole barley
2 parts black oil sunflower seeds

In my case '1 part' is about 10 lbs and I mix it in a steel garbage can in my coop. That mix lasts me over 6 months with daily use to about 50 chickens. They love it and alway come running when I rattle the grain scoop
