Minnesota!

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. I've caught my mother feeding iced donuts to the chickens. In all fairness, just part of one she was eating, but it makes me wonder.
It would explain why they crowd around her when she's outside.

Would you consider watermelon bad? We fed it while it was warm to keep them hydrated. Plus it attracted bugs :)
Watermelon is nice for the 90+ degree days and again if it is less than 10% of what they eat that day. Formulated feed or free range finds at the 90% level by BYC nutritional recommendations on other threads...etc.

Pictures:

The new hospital beds one with OSB backing to cut air flow and light the other with screen.

The new nest box, as you can see one hen likes new areas..

A close up of the first to use the nests.

And this is a strange little bird I hatched. I am not sure what the mixes are, it looks more like a hawk than a chicken.
It hated to have it's picture taken.

Yea, it lives with Keets. The head is so wide! Tell me what you think for mixes. I had EE, Creamette , BA and Partridge Chanticler roosters and mix of hens. I am hoping it is a she, but afraid it is a he.
Nice job on the build,,and i like your birds also...

Ralphie that little mutt reminds me of the Phoenix half breeds that I had a few years ago. Man those birds were schizo's!! They might have been good for someone who wanted chickens but not all the trouble of a coop. They much preferred the pine trees for a roost and under the hostas for nests. But one of them was by far my old rooster franchesco's (all lower case) favorite hen! he would sprint 100 yards to give her lovin'.
