Ralphie has been gone for quite some time now. I am thinking that the Sasquatch's did harm to him of he has actually decided to become a fowl or foul Hermit?

Klop, the two missing mouse traps are an indication of a larger animal or animals as part of the mix? You may need to set a rat trap or two?

you do not want rats, they will chew on chickens. Kill them if they can, in the dark when the chicken can't move cause they are blind in the dark. Terrible

You would probably be really happy with a poop board underneath your roost and your girls might feel more comfortable with having something underneath them they might think they are going to fall off at night until they get experience sleeping up on the 2 x 4's. Of course I'm not a chicken so I don't really know what they're thinking...

I think that's a great idea and makes sense. I'll need to get one under there at some point anyways. I bet the folks at Home Depot are wondering what we're up do....we're always there buying the most random stuff to get the coop up and fully functioning. Does it matter how much space there is between the roosts and poop board?

I think I'm also going to move the roosts down a foot.

No no no... That is not what I wanted to hear. Ick! I will be at fleet farm finding rat traps tonight! I've never seen a rat before but I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they were here.

Congrats on the new free chainsaw Klop. But I have to tell you that the whole computer in a chainsaw would leave me leary from here on out. Can you chose one without? One thing I've found with computerized things is that they last about as long as the 2 year warranty and then they are done. Like appliances.
Totally hate that.

I haven't really seen much for vermin or their poop in the coop. I'm suspicious the buckeye has been helping with that. IDK...

Those plug in water fount thingies. I have never had one...but I want to say that I was on a thread and the report back on them is that they are so poorly made that they can short out and are actually a fire hazard.....? maybe...maybe....

I think they are subpar as handy as they look. Because I did think they looked pretty good too. But something made me not buy them. My memory is poor....on what I read.

The issue was mechanical not electric. The skirt that transfers the oil to the cylinder was leaking by so it was doomed to fail from when it was first built.
