Minnesota!

Please dont be mad... they are just too darn cute not to share!

I was vacuuming stray kitty litter from their pen and this guy shot straight up and stuck to the wall haha. They are still small enough to squeeze through the 2x4 wire so they can come and go from our dog pen as they please and roam the basement now. gives them a place to go where our hound cant pester them (aka sniff their bums relentlessly). Still not comfortable letting our lab down with them. makes me sad that she isnt gentle with them, but not every dog is good with cats. just nature i gues...

I'm in Nowthen. I work in Arden Hills though, so that is by you, does that count?

Oooh, Old English bantams are so cute! I only have standard birds, but some on here have bantams I think.

So I bought a webcam quite awhile ago to put in the coop, I finally hooked it up today and got it running (well, my DH got it running as I couldn't and he is in IT thank goodness). Well, wouldn't you know it, my signal does not reach to the coop, so now I have to look into getting a repeater hopefully that the signal will make it out there. shux, I was so excited too to watch my girls when I'm at work on breaks and such. hopefully it will work and I can see them in the winter too! (don't know what temp the camera goes down to though) it only cost 50 bucks, so it probably won't work when it is really cold? we'll see... Anybody else have a coop cam?

Hahaha! too cute, poor little guy, scared to death! but funny!

looking for advice on storing seed potatoes. I have an onion bag full of pingpong ball sized potatoes that i want to save for seed next year. What is the best way to keep them? can i just throw the bag on the shelf with my canned goods in the basement? will they rot? will they dry out?

They need to be kept very cool or they will germinate. A bit of moisture loss is not a big issue. We have a root cellar where our seed potatoes are kept.

It stays quite cool in the basement, especially where we keep the canned goods. it is in a corner with 2 outside walls and we dont actively heat down there. i would suspect its upper 50's down there maybe in the cold of winter.

they have been down there since harvest laying out on newspaper drying/curing with all the rest of the taters.
