Got my very first green egg today!!

I actually witnessed her lay it too, it was perfect timing. I had seen she was in the nest box earlier so I just poked my head in there a little later to see how she was doing and she stood up and popped out the egg!

@Minniechickmama this is from the little clean legged one. Still waiting on big feather legs to start! I'm hoping hers are olive eggs, but I'll just be happy when she lays one

Was that other one out of a dark brown egg @FoxyChicken ? If so, it will be an olive. I am glad they are giving up something for you!

@lala, I have heard that opossum will keep a skunk away ;) LOL I would actually rather have an opossum than a skunk around, but I don't let either take up residence around the chickens.
 
I think the feather legged one is a Marans/Ameraucana, so it should produce an olive egg for you. I don't think I had anyone else that would give them feathered legs in those pens last year.
 
I HAVE seen that and I couldn't watch through the whole thing the first time much less this one. Lordy Lordy! And people think our culture has gone over the edge?

Here comes the cold again. Man, that wind is wicked today! I am glad I am not traveling anywhere.
