Minor incubator accident...

I just thought I would mention this.

Last night I turned the eggs for the last time, and accidentally left the top of the incubator not quite fitted into the bottom of it.

It did get pretty cool during the night, although probably not cool enough to kill the eggs. I hope.

Now I will carefully check this before I leave it, but thought I would tell about it in case it might happen to someone else.

Hi Catherine! I've done that before. I hope your eggs will be OK.
I had an incident the other day too. Took 4 doz eggs out of the bator the other morning to candle and only put 3 doz back IN the bator --- didn't notice the other doz still sitting on the counter til that night. Oops!

I did that once and when I was sleeping my cat ate a few of the eggs!!

Cats- LOL- I put the basket on the fence post last week with that days egg collection and the labrador stole it and ate them. Bad dog

Oh gosh--my cat has very little interest in eggs, although the dogs would be happy to eat any number of them.

She occasionally eyes the chicks, but so far has no offered to bother them.
