Good Job!I put the new birds up in the roost right beside the rest of them and that really seems to have made all the difference.
Did you do this well after dark?

I wouldn't say well after, but once the old flock was roosted I went and grabbed the new girls (from outside of the coop) and placed them up there with them. I'd say it was still twilight. Maybe an 45- 1 hour after sunset?Good Job!

As long as the olders couldn't see well enough, or were well relaxed and snoozing, they didn't react to the youngers being in the roost.I wouldn't say well after, but once the old flock was roosted I went and grabbed the new girls (from outside of the coop) and placed them up there with them. The next night the new birds (who happen to be older in age) were roosting just below the original (younger) birds. All seems to be going very well now.As long as the olders couldn't see well enough, or were well relaxed and snoozing, they didn't react to the youngers being in the roost.
Will be interesting to see tonight if the youngers make their own way to the roost.
Might need to repeat the process for a couple more nights.
Best of cLuck!
