Minor wound to face ...help pls

One of my 2 wk old chicks has a little peck wound to her face with a tiny spot of blood. Do I need to separate her so she isn't pecked to death?!? They're all together right now and doing ok. I'm suddenly over chickens tonight!

It depends whether the others are attracted to the blood and start pecking at it. You ma not need to separate at all, or only for a few hours til the blood dries and flakes off. You could keep some bluKote or other gentian violet solution around. It is antiseptic plus the purblplish color often deters pecking.

Thank you! I'm gonna buy some for next time. The blood is dry so maybe that's what saved her. I need a chicken first aid kit for sure. I can't believe little chicks would hurt each other like that. They haven't attacked her yet... She made it through the night. Do u think things are ok then and she's safe?
