A friend of mine was telling me that his uncle has 3 broody hens.. One he took in the house cause it was so hot outside.. and she was on some very high dollar eggs.. Several of them hatched.. and she got up and was feeding the babiez... So he took them outside.. He emptied the nest of shells.. there was one egg left and it was pipped.. so he left it.. 2 tiny chicks were in the nest when he came in from doing chores... This is in the house! No way any other hen could have snuck an egg in.. He didn't get pics.. but he said there was one shell.. and two teeny tiny babiez that were identical.. I know this guy, and he wouldn't make up wild stories... He swears it's a miracle.. I guess the babiez were okay.. but just very small.

My son always wanted to try to catch a double yolker. I'll have to give it a go the next time I get 1. Like many other animals that have twins, they'll probably be sterile. Never know till Ya try tho.

Hi...neat story - I'm happy for you! It does happen and they do survive. I had a pair of breeding parakeets lay 9 eggs and hatch out 10 babies. All 10 babies went on to fledge and live normal lives. Good Luck with your babies...enjoy them!

OMG, off subject, but I had a dream that I hatched twins from one egg!
So weird!!!
