So 3 days ago I put 20 eggs in the incubator. Some of my own and some of a friends who gave me some eggs while I was out of town about a week ago. Yesterday I candled a couple thinking they might be double yolk due to the size, I was just grabbing when I put them in and it was late. I found 1 of my friends that had an embryo that looked about 4 days along. She has a broody silkie mix and now I was worried about her other eggs. Candling the ones in the incubator I found 2 more, 1 dead and the other iffy (candles it tonight and it also was dead.)
Candling what was still in the basket i found 4 more that were passed away. I notified her to make sure to make the originals and to candle any that she pulls out. She was having days where she was leaving them for 2-4 days. I was willing to grab any that had smaller babies in them than the originals.
I checked on the one that I originally found and it is growing strong.
Has anyone else had this happen? Will it have a chance to survive or is it a high chance of dying still in the egg?
