Awwwww...Miracle is shaping up nicely. His/her little siblings are quite funny looking to me, but I'm not familiar w/guinea birds, so maybe they look really close to "normal." Miracles story would make a great children's book, from many different angles. You should give it a thought...

for the book.....

i was thinking something like the ugly duckling (ugly chicken-guinea cross in this case)
told from miracles point of view.

"hi, I am miracle... I'm...... different......"

Miracle, It is nice that you have chosen to keep us all informed. I am very proud of you and your "stink-eye"!

Hi People,

Today I (Miracle) am 10 weeks old. It has been a busy week for Little Bit, Rascal, and me. Little Bit said "buck-wheat" and now everyone knows that she is a girl. I tried to tell her not to do it but she got excited and couldn't help herself. I'm trying to be a little more mysterious. Nobody knows yet if I am a boy or a girl. I just LOVE keeping secrets! All I am saying is "cheep cheep cheep". Mostly I say it when I'm eating something good and it tastes so wonderful I just have to sing. Broccoli is my favorite thing. We have been playing broccoli chase since I was a little tiny chick/keet in a cardboard box in the People house.

There are some big horses on this farm. Their coop is right next door to our coop and they have some nice sand on their floor. All the chickens, guineas, and guins (that's me) love to take dust baths in the horses coop. The horses are very nice to us and try hard not to step on us. Sometimes Chicken Chicken (that's her name) rides the horses and they don't mind at all. I decided that if Chicken Chicken could do it I could too........so I did. I liked it OK but not as much as Chicken Chicken.

One day we went to the hay room to play in the hay. Bella, the kitty, was in there too. I still have to keep a sharp eye and beak on her. I can stand up really tall and that scares her. Also, I can fluff my feathers out and make myself look really big - that scares her too. She just wants to play but I'm not sure I can trust her yet. After all, she is a cat.

Little Bit tried to stand up as tall as me but just couldn't quite reach that far. She is just a guinea and not a guin like me.

Good bye for now.
